Phoenixville – Church of the Transfiguration: Quiet Day for Women, “Angels and Men in a Wonderful Order,” Conducted by Sister Elaine of the All Saints’ Sisters, Saturday, September 29, 9 am to 2:30 pm. 51 Columbia Ave., Phoenixville, PA 19460, 610-415-9788. Registration, $10, payable to “Anglican Church Women” to the above address. Schedule: 9 am Mass, followed by light breakfast. 10 am, First Meditation, “Angels.” 11 am, Second Meditation, “Men.” 12 pm, Noonday Prayer and lunch (brown bag; beverage and desert provided). 1:30 pm, Third Meditation, “Order.” 2:30 pm, Final Blessing. Sponsored by the Diocesan Anglican Church Women.

Also at the Church of the Transfiguration on Sunday, October 7 at 4:00 p.m.: Consecration of the Church and Evensong, sung by the Valley Forge Choir of Men and Boys. Reception after the Liturgy. All bishops, clergy & laity in the Anglican Fellowship of the Delaware Valley, and beyond, are invited to attend. Choir dress for clergy and bishops. The church property was paid off on April 13, 2007, Deo gratias. The Parish was founded in August, 1996.

Mass in Swedish on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 pm at the Church of the Transfiguration for St. Bridget’s Day and with special intention for the Mission Province in Sweden.

Rosemont – “Chivalry in Today’s World,” presented by Patrick’s Boathouse on Sunday, September 30 after 5 pm Evening Prayer. A discussion with Bishop Paul Hewett on how manners, chivalry, gallantry and being a lady or a gentleman flow from our life in Christ in Word and Sacrament.

Also at the Church of the Good Shepherd: Anglican Fellowship of the Delaware Valley clergy, Wed, Oct 10, 12 noon Mass followed by lunch (brown bag).

Pittsburgh – Common Cause Bishop’s meeting, 25-28 September. Federation bishops (including our Diocese) and Forward in Faith bishops will be there. This meeting is being billed as the first meeting of the House of Bishops of an emerging new province.
Virginia
Winchester – St. Michael the Archangel, Episcopal Visit and Confirmations, September 22-23.

Marshall – St. John the Baptist has called the Rev. Canon Jonathan J. D. Ostman, SSC, to be the 5th Rector of the Parish. Fr. Ostman is a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria and sometime Curate of All Saints, Wynnewood, PA, and Rector of St. John the Evangelist in Newport, RI. He is a Canon of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Sunday September 16 was his first in Marshall; let us remember him in our prayers and Mass intentions as he begins his ministry there.
