Philadelphia: Patrick's Boathouse is a new apostolic work that meets once a month on Sunday evenings, sometimes at the Fairmount Boat House on Boat House Row on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia and sometimes in people's homes. The purpose is "to help post-modern individuals and families learn the Christian faith, practice it, and share it with others. To that end, [Patrick's Boathouse] will invite the best teachers and leaders to address key issues that challenge believers today." The following topics are typical of what will be examined after Evening Prayer: "Living in Occupied Territory: Faith in the Age of Email and Artificial Intelligence"; "Starting Over: Reconnecting with God and your Spiritual Purpose"; "Financial Planning for a Disciple"; and "The New Faithful: Orthodoxy for Young Adults." The subject on Sunday, June 25, was "Jesus According to Himself" (an explanation of the true person of Christ in the midst of the DaVinci Code frenzy). Fr. Tom Monnat is the founding Director of Patrick's Boathouse and will furnish more information at pboathouse@verizon.net.
Rosemont: At the Church of the Good Shepherd, the "Friends of Philly" met on June 27. These are the orthodox Anglican and Episcopalian clergy of the Philadelphia metropolis who meet occasionally for fellowship, support and networking. The next meeting will be at Good Shepherd, Rosemont, on Tuesday, September 12, beginning with Mass at noon followed by lunch. We are planning on a well-attended meeting on September 12.
Birdsboro: St. Michael the Archangel, a mission near Reading, is preparing to look at some property on the very busy and visible Route 422. To help with this, Deacon Lee Herbert is bringing his business expertise with him from the Pro-Cathedral of the Epiphany in Columbia, SC, where he serves. He'll be at St. Michael's for a series of meetings from July 26-28. Margaret Diefenderfer, a member of the mission with a background in finance, will also be in attendance.
South Carolina
Columbia: At the University of South Carolina, the Rev. Paul A. Sterne, SSC, is putting the finishing touches on the newest ministry at the University -- St. Theodore Anglican Chapel, 1730 College Street. For more information, contact Fr. Sterne at psterne@gmail.com
Blythewood: Mardenia Hatchell Sharpe, mother of the Rev. Dr. John L. Sharpe III, SSC, went to her heavenly rest on the 20th of June and was buried on the 23rd. On the 21st, she would have been 90 years old. Fathers Young and Werner and Deacon Lee Herbert and Prof. Rosamond Sprague were in attendance and were of great moral support.

Michigan
