"FORTNIGHTLY "
November 18, 2006

This bulletin will come on alternate Saturday mornings to provide a quick summary of what is happening in the Diocese and beyond. Rectors, especially those in the DHC, may wish to copy this Fortnightly to parishioners who have e-mail, or to have parishioners’ e-mail addresses sent to afdv1@yahoo.com.

Alabama
Birmingham: During the Episcopal Visit to St. Bede's, on November 5, Donald Clark Lewis, Jr. was admitted as a Lay Reader and the Rev. Robert Montiel was received into the Diocese (from the Diocese of Western Tennessee) to serve as Assistant Priest at St. Bede's.
Michigan
Swartz Creek: The Rev. Fr. Gene Geromel, SSC, Ph.D., Rector of St. Bartholomew's, has been received as a priest of the Diocese. Mr. Stephen Maas, Senior Warden of that parish, has been accepted as a Postulent for Holy Orders for the Permanent Dioaconate.
Illinois
Belleville: I attended the Council Meeting of Forward in Faith, North America, November 13-15. The centripetal forces now drawing the orthodox remnants together are strong. The orthodox witness (apostolic ministry, historic liturgy and New Testament morality) is having leavening effect and is spreading. Canon Warren Tanghe, SSC, reported on a fruitful three week trip to the Diocese of Minna in Nigeria.
New York
Queens: At St. James, Elmhurst, on December 9, God willing, Fr. Brian Marsh will be consecrated a Bishop, to serve as the Suffragen Bishop of the Diocese of Northeast in the Anglican Church in America. I will be one of the consecrators.
Pennsylvania
Phoenixville: At the Church of the Transfiguration, Dr. Michael R. Mattern was admitted as a Lay Reader. We bade farewell to Deacon John Richards and his family, who are moving to the Diocese of Fort Worth after seven years of faithful service at the Church of the Transfiguration.

Rosemont: The Anglican Fellowship of the Delaware Valley will host a Mass, lunch and meeting of orthodox Anglican and Episcopal clergy serving the Philadelphia metropolis on Wednesday, December 6, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Mass will be at noon. Lunch will be provided. RSVP at 610-525-7070.
South Carolina
Landrum: Episcopal Visit to St. Luke's, November 18-19.

Spartanburg: Lunch and fellowship for area clergy on Monday, 20 November, at noon at the Piedmont Club, 361 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. RSVP to afdv1@yahoo.com.

Columbia: The next Synod of the Diocese will be from May 3-5, 2007 at the Pro-Cathedral of the Epiphany.
